I had this MPC 1000 for quite some time and I have attempted to learn the working of it through the manual. But the manual seems like it's written for people who already have a working knowledge of MPC's. Can somebody help a brotha out, with a simplified version/tutorial :? :? :?

Us folk from the triangle have to stick together so I'll help (Durham). First download a program creator i.e. blue box,Mpc program creator. It makes it easy to load samples...............

just go at it. read like 1 instruction point in the manual and execute that and just just experiment with something else. Make a program and bang out a simple sequence. You're not gonna learn all at once. The best way is to learn a little bit and then be "bored" of your ignorance, which creates the urge to keep going

use the manual as more of a reference rather than a guide. just experiment with it, press buttons, turn the dial, check out all of the mode functions. the 1Kis an incredible machine capabale of far more than i realized at date of purchase. honestly i bought it without a good idea of what i wanted to get out of it. as soon as i got it out of the box i was hooked and after experimentaion/practice i developed a better idea of my goals which drove me to figure out what she was capable of. sh*t blew my mind and still does a couple of times a week. just figure out what your goals are and have fun.

man, if u cant figure it out by now, sell it.........shit, first time i got my shit i bought a good pair of headphones, got blazed, hopped on that shit w/ the preset sounds n kits and went at it, all u gotta learn is the timing, how many bars u wanna make it then juss **** around, then getta soundforge or what u want n start gettin creative thinkin of a way to chop a certain sample n then ya good, but if by now u havent learned anything on it, i would get rid of it, get nice on reason 3.0 for a lil bit then bring that mpc out "that's one of dre's favorite thing to **** w/ now" but other then that, juss get creative i guess
