loading a sequence

I am trying to save and then load a sequence so that I can record it and measure it to the computer and loop a sample to time compress. The only problem is when I try to load the sequence I get the message windows cannot open this file. When I record and save samples I have no problem opening up files. What I am doing wrong? I just got this MPC and learning as I go, but this has me stumped.
