I have the mpc synced up to soundforge so I can track my beats into it. The problem is that in soundforge you have to tell it which button on the mpc makes it start, stop, rewind, etc. For example, you can put in "C1", so when ever you hit "C1" soundforge starts, stops. You can also put in controller #'s 1-127, but which # is the play & stop on the mpc????

Maybe it can send/receive system realtime messages like start, stop and clock?
The MPC can sync to and send such. Does not seem to send anything else.
You can always make a track with note commands, of course...

what version of soundforge are you using? look at the MIDI Implementation chart in the back of the 1K manual.

"ut which # is the play & stop on the mpc"

MPC do not send CC's for start/stop/rew. They never have. The older MPC's use MMC (which is what all pro hardware uses for transport controls). I do not recall if the MPC1000 uses it though.

so you cannot use the data wheel and transport controls of the MPC1K as MIDI controllers ???
