Finally! After alot of research, browsing these forums, and saving up money, I have gotten my 1st MPC. My home studio setup uses a computer as the brains for my music, so the MPC1K should fit in nicely. I'm sure I'll be on these forums with alot of questions in the next few months. So lets start it off right, with my first question.

Has anyone painted this fugly machine? I'm not a fan of the red/blue. If so, got pics?

I love it metafor. Thats how its done. Thanks for the ingredients. I'll be customizing my 1K as soon as I get it. I'm thinkin silver sides and leaving the face blue. But who knows, I might change my mind.

Peace.

Yeah man, that looks REAL nice...nice and clean too. Would you mine sharing how you did it, if it's not too much trouble? I'm aware of the paints you got, just not the painting process.

Thanks.

With a proper paint job would that increase or decrease the street value of the MPC1k?

Wassup House. I first cleans the sides with alcohol to clean, and absorb any oils, then I put 2 coats of primer, then nice coats of white. then i added 4 coats of of the rim clear coat and wahla.

I think I'm going to paint mine this weekend. I checked with VST (AKAI service center in Cali) and even if for some reason you mess up painting the top panel is about $60 and the sides are about $12 each. So that's good to know.

that's just like asking by tricking out your ride with tv's in all the headrests and dvd players and all, would that increase or decrease the street value. the answer regarding the cars, it will technically decrease the resell value. now if you sell it or want to sell it to a person who likes all of that and your talk is good, you can raise the value.

in my opinion and not taking away from all who did it, (cuz some of them look real good) i wouldn't touch mine. it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it acts right and do what it was meant to do, i'm fine.
