How long should a 1k be left on?

I can't afford extra memory or flash cards right now and it's annoying to always load my sample over and over. So I have left my MPC on for about 3 days. What do y'all think is safe? Is it like a computer that you can always keep on, or should you turn it off after each use? I'm thinking it's bad for the little fella either way. I dunno?

whoa haha the longest ive left mines on was about 5 hours. but i wasnt continuously working with it.. i recently read some post about this and it seems a lot of people leave their mpcs (not specifically the 1k) on for a long itme.

the mpc gets a lot hotter then the rest of my gear, so i try to avoid leaving it on when not used.

why don't you transfer your sample to a computer??

3 days!?! lol... i dunno but i don't even leave my computer on for 3 days straight...

I always leave my computer on...it's been on for years! I wish my MPC would go into sleep mode, like my computer. Then I could leave it on for years too.
I guess I'm going to start loading all of my programs on my computer, until I get a bigger flash card.

turn it off when you're not using it. that goes for anything

i leave my 1k on for long periods. Usually on weekends i leave it on for a full day while im working on something. Sometimes i get sidetracked on my tables and forget about it. This weekend is the first time that i was too lazy to save my work so i just left it on over night. Then i worked on it the whole next day, so i guess i had it on for about 35 hours. I felt the bottom of it right after i finnaly turned it off and it didn't feel hot, just the same as if you had it on for an hour. I belive that besides the life of the screen, the mpc is designed to be able to be left on for long periods of time. It eisessentially a computer. It has a processor, ram, bus, bios, and chipsets just like you PC so i don't see why its any more unsafe to leave it on like a Windows machine.

anybody know if the screen can be replaced when it wear's out? is the price even worth it? i am very curious.

because it doesnt have a fan and could overheat, explode and kill your whole family?

Yeah, the MPC's have always been good at that... They can stay on pretty long, as long as it doesnt get hot as **** its no stress at all man.
