hey kidssss im trying to figure out a way to get the mpc to tell my microkrog to change its program when i change a track during a sequence.. lilkeeee so ok i record a sequence of the micro via the pads on my mpc.. thats track 1 micro program a lets say.. now i record a secuence in track 2 and want track to to be micro program b.. obvioulsy muting the other track since my micro isnt mulit timberal or anything... any ideas?

it's easy

put a program change event at the beginning of each track (you do this in step edit). whatever track is playing will call the appropriate microkorg patch at the beginning of the sequence.

i think it's normal for the MK to take a moment to change patches though. at least mine does. i.e., you hit a different patch button on the MK and it doesnt change right away like on a juno. it kinda calls the patch into memory, i'ts a bit slow. so what you do is, add a blank bar at the beginning of your sequence to give it a chance for the MK to change patches when nec.

ok i figured that out thanks! man since your a mc user too do you have a list of pgm numbers that corrispond to memory spots on the mc? cuz i cant find one

no problem homie

yeah it's a little daunting at first, but once you do it a couple of times it's easy

the list of pgm #'s for the MK is on that one page poster size insert with the manual, it says "Voice Name List" at the top and has the corresponding #'s next to each patch slot

basically, the A slots go 0-63 then the B patches go 64-127

like TRANCE A1 is pgm 0, TECHNO/HOUSE A1 is pgm #8, etc

TRANCE B1 is 64, B2 is 65, ELECTRONICA B31 is #80, etc

if you dont have the insert you could just make a chart one time and have it to refer to later. it'd take you 5 minutes to put it together

i did some digging tiger and i found the chart. thanks again man! your right its pretty easy but that damn delay when loading is a **** hahaah im thinking about getting a multi timberal sound modual to add to the rack. any suggestions? i already got my analog ends coverd with a korg ms 20 the micro korg(simulated) and a moog rogue.

I heard the roland jd series has a good sound for romplers-- wait are they multitimbral? I assume so..

I've got an EX5, but it is more of a synth than a multitim. module.

Actually you've got a problem with too much analog, better sell me your ms20 :) :).
