I am pretty sure it has been handled before on the forum, but I could not find it...

Example: I made my own personal program called Bank 1, with a dope kick, snare, hihat. I used it for one song in Logic, so every time when I load up the song in Logic (my sequencer) I have to load the program Bank 1. No prob there...

But, now I want to use the same drum sounds for another song, but I want to add another snare and an extra sample. I don't want to ruin my other program called Bank 1, so I want to save this one as Bank 2. (this way, I have two 'almost the same' programs.

But how can I save this one? When I hit the mode button and save, I can only save the program names how they are known, so like Bank 1.

It will save much time if it's possible. Ofcourse I can load all the samples again, but do that twenty times every day, and it costs you an hour...

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance

If your asking what I think then it is really easy, you dont even need to read the manual just have a remote sense on how to use the MPC...just go to the program screen and hit window on the program you want to use...then hit copy, it will give you another copy of that program...from there add your snare and kick or whatever, and just save under the name that you copied it as.

and just to include, that is the right way to go about it, and it DOES NOT make copies of the sounds, the PGM's are just a file that links to the sounds so that PGM needs to in the same directory just with a different name.

I my self have loads of different PGM using the same sounds its just each PGM has different settings for the sounds to make em sound different.

Sup Niceweis and Penfold,

Thanks a lot. That's what I intended to do...

Loud and clear Penfold, so I better not move my Banks then....I keep em all together on my flashcard under a PROGRAMS folder. If that one sticks together, nothing can go wrong I guess.

thats correct....also remember to backup that folder everynow and then, vital changes to programs can get lost over time. bare in mind also if you change trim settings to a sample, you have to either save the sample again manually or when u save the program save and replace same sounds.

Yeah I always replace the sounds, so that should work. I don't trim on my MPC cos I still think it's tougher then softtrimmers. Thanks for the help.
