I'm hooking up my bass guitar directly into the left stereo feed and sampling it direct. Only problem is the guitar's port is slightly dodgy so sometimes it gives off that noisy fuzz feedback. Could this damage the MPC in any way? Many thanks, your pal,

No it won't damage it. You might want to try running your bass through something with a high impedence input though, your bass will sound heaps better cause the pickups will be properly loaded.

Run it through a bass amplifier, then connect the bass amplifier to your MPC.

as a bassist of 20 years heres some advice on sampling bass with the mpc. first check if your amp has a line out or even a tuner out.. always plug that output into the mpc or else yourll have an impedance mismatch and itll sound cheap. if it doesnt have a line out or anything like that invest in a good d.i. box like a sans amp. its a lil spendy but hell if your wanting legit tones youll need it. 2nd never use additive eq'ing. always use subtractive. you get better headroom that way.. louder signal with less distortion ;) 3rd **** about with a touch of compression.. not too much , then just go nuts!
