What Should I check for when buying used 1k?

I am about to buy a used Mpc1000, and wanted to know what kind of faults I should be looking out for, as once ive bought it i assume there's no going back.
Since im new to the whole MPC range I dont really have a clue as to what to look for in terms of faults and operation.
Any suggestions or info on what the likely faults with a used 1k are would be greatly appreciated.

P.s I have tried searching for this topic, but found no relvant results. If you know of any topics you can refer me to, please let me know.

If the edges are pushed inn, meaning the owned had a problem with it at the begining

what do you mean by the "edges", like the red bits on the sides?

Test all of the outputs if possible, just in case there's a bad connection / static noise on any of 'em. Test the inputs too. Also, ask if you can do a factory reset then test the pads with samples assigned to each; ensure they all feel ok to you and play back properly. There's a pad calibration utility so the current user might know which pads need to be tweaked.

If it's supposed to have extra memory, check that it's installed. Test all dials and buttons + screen for scratches. Don't worry if the unit rocks a little rather than lying perfectly flat; this can easily be remedied (I think there's even a post about it on this site.)

After that, you could test the USB port when connected to a PC and also the card slot. If the unit looks like sh1t, it's probably been treated like sh1t!
