Equipment Help

I am somewhat new to producing. I have a MPC 1k and up until now that's all I used but now I have a keyboard. How do I use them together? Someone told me to get a mixer, but I don't know what kind to get. If possible can someone list EVRYTHING that I need to use my MPC and my keyboard together. Thanks alot...

whew.... ...you might want to(maybe) get midi cables, and (maybe) learn how to configure the tho pieces so that they respond correctly....oh yeah and at minimum a 4 channel board to hear them through(maybe). hope this helps a lil bit.

what kind of keyboard do you have?

As for brands of mixers I would suggest a yamaha, or a mackie. There are others that are good but I personally like those better. You can use our computer as a mixer if you had the right audio interface. I know the motu 828 interface can act as a stand alone mixer and a audio/ midi interface. Get that if you think you want to start recording. But if you want to just practice on your beat making skills and don't feel the need to get into recording the just go get a mixer.

Get any mixer it realy dont matter its just a mixer as long as it has at least 4 channels
