timing correction

hi im new to this forum and new to the mpc1000.




was just wondering about timing correction and what it is all about. i just cant figure out how to adjust the notes im hitting. what is 1/8 note, 1/16 note, 1/32(3) note etc ......i love this pice of machinery but i just cant get this down. sorry for the noob question but i just dont want this 1,500 dollars to go to waste.

dang well to your quesion . i personally dont know about the timing correction in deatil but i usualy set it to 1/16 when i record drum patterns. but when im doing bass lines and other samples i set it to off.

read up in the manual it explains it in detail. what those numbers mean.

do you know the grid sequencers of fruity loops ? or the electribe ?

for them the resolution is 1/16
= 1 bar divided in 16 steps. (1bar is 4beats in 4/4)
every hit you will do will be recorded on one of the 16th of the bar.

1/8 is 1 bar divided in 8 steps etc...

and the (3) means triplets (have a google to know what it is)


in fact to find out, the easiest way is to use the note repeat with various TC settings, first with no swing, and then with swing.

Don't forget to try turning off Note Correct altogether. Gives a much freer, looser sound. Course, you might not want that. Still... anyway...
