Anyone using the MPC to automate a mix in the DPS 12/16?

now that I know it can record MIDI CC's I am thinking about picking up a 16 for the prices they have been going for.....

You can't control the DPS with the 1k. Other way around.

I though it was possible to record fader motions as MIDI CC data with a DPS? Then, couldn't you record that into a MPC, play it back and have the mix be automated?

I haven't messed with that yet. My DPS is supposed to delivered sometime today from being serviced. If I get it I will try and mess with the combo this weekend, I"ll try that and let you know.

I've been meaning to try this and few other things anyway.

Sure you can. The DPS can respond to CC's and sysex. It is just much easier to record this info from the DPS itself as opposed to manual input (eg overdub your DPS fader changes into a dedicated track).

In fact there is a dedicated page with MPC/DPS integration at dps16.com written by yours truly. While it is geared towards XL and DPS, the same concepts apply across any type of multitrack recording.
