I'm looking to snag a 1k to be the next peice of equipment I buy, I was wondering......does it have wave-editing???

also, a bunch of people i know who have had one say that it crashes quite a bit, has this happened to you? are they known for this?

The editing is very limited, trim samples and extract. Never had any problem with crashes on the 1k. I could put a big piece of 1k vs. 2kxl on the hook and throw it out there, but that would only attract sharks. If the 1k is on the wish list, okay, but wave editing is not the strong point. My suggestion is to look around(search), and see what others are using. I use audacity(free).

well right now, what I'm using is an emu sp1200 and borrowing my roomates 2kxl to use for waveediting. I have a 60II and an old 3k but I prefer to use the waveedit form. do you think it would be a better investment for a 4k or 2kxl?

Depends on your needs and wallet size.Without waking the demons, I would suggest that you compare the features of those machines as far away from this board as you can  There have been too many threads that compare A to B to mention. I fully understand that you are looking into some type of wave editing with hardware. Just trying to help you get a str8 answer and look out for your personal safety.
