Reason 3.0 & The MPC 1000

I recently purchased a new MPC 1000, it's my first MPC although I have been producing music for a few years using Reason and Cubase. I can't wait to see what this thing can do. I am trying to integrate the MPC into my setup but I haven't seen much posted about it.

Does anyone here happen to use both an MPC 1000 and Reason? If so can you share how you have it set up?

2. use reason synths to make drum or melodic loops and samples, load those into mpc and mess around with them to come up with new sh**

3. use mpc with its nice pads and realtime recording to make sick drum grooves... import these into reason as wav loops or as midi files.

4. sync both up via midi and mix layers of reason with layers of mpc...

5. use mpc pads as midi trigger to play reason soft synths (hint: i hope your sound card has low latency )

6. dump your favourite sounds into mpc so you can jam live with friends, without draggin your laptop around like a geek

reason and the mpc are the sickest duo known to man. reason + mpc + midi controller keyboard = world domination.

this is my greatest work yet. the main sample, drums, bass, and stab synth are all composed on the mpc. the rest is a reason creation using the radium 49 and its beautiful controllers.

in the final version i am adding cuts and i took out a couple of the overlying synths (particularly the wah synth and a couple lead synths that come in).

i hope you enjoy it. i post it to show you the potential of these two tools put together. i vouch for it hardcore.

Yo..that joint is pretty ill. I cant wait to put some sounds in this thing and get to making some joints. Everything I've done so far has been in Reason, and the only reason I had been holding out on buying a MPC was the fact that I need something more than just a midi controller.

So any insight that you have on the subject, please share. I'm eager to learn.

dude, the quickest way to find out how to implement reason (any version) with the mpc is to do a search for a cat named penfold here on this site. one of his signatures lead to a descriptive tuturial on how to do this.

thats a sick track man. After reading this thread, I hooked up Reason 3.0 and FL 5 PE. Its only getting better and better. I have so many plug-ins, sound mods and soundfonts for FL5, even Reason can be rewired through FL5. Infact, I think my virtual setup cost more than my all my shit. I could say I'm truly happy and excited right now.

yes, i definitely suggest searching "reason" and author "penfold." he does the trick.

no joke, using an mpc1000 with reason 3.0 is like having a single sampler of incredible power and potential. it turns your computer into a sound module. plus, reason is a GREAT program due to its controllers and ability to mod its effects and control that using a midi controller. PLUS it never, ever freezes.

it's a liberating setup.
