Need help with syncing midi using reason and cubase

I have a tascam us-122 interface an alesis micron and an mpc-1000. one the software side I have reason 3.0 and cubase sx. my question is that I cannot get my micron to act as a midid controller to record or play anything. This is getting extremly frustrating please help.

If u are trying to control Reason with your keyboard then u should be going PC MIDI Out to keyboard MIDI IN and Keyboard MIDI Out to PC MIDI IN. Hope that helps.

Yeah that's how I have it set up but I don't know reason is not responding it's like nothing's there. I'm wondering if I should return the micron and the tascam us-122 and get an m-audio midi controller.

i use the micron as a controller so why cant u?

don't return shit, its definitely possible, u need to learn more about midi

check the 'preferences' settings in reason, you need sequencer control set to the right midi in port on your comp

did you leftclick in the sequencer window in the appropriate row for the device you are trying to control?

I took back the Tascam us-122, that was the problem. I'm using the micron fine now. I got an M-audio midi interface instead and it worked right out of the box. I reccommend people stay away from that Tascam I've read alot of reviews online and alot people have had the same problems I did.
