So I just got my 1000 and think its sick, but am still getting familiar with it and trying to figure out the best ways to do certain things. I have a few questions, and if someone would take some time and hook me up, that'd be dope.

First -
The whole effect situation seems kind of crappy. It seems like I can only have 3 effects loaded up at one time - the Master, and Eff. 1 and 2. So if I have multiple sequences loaded up at one time, but want to have different effects depending on what sequence Im working on, what is the best way to do that? As opposed to having 2 effects total and having the same 2 effects on every sequence I make.

Second -
Is there an easy way to edit a sample so it plays in reverse?

Third -
Is there a way to edit the end of a sample so it fades out smoothly as opposed to just stopping. I know you edit the end point in the trim window, but I am thinking more along the lines of the attack but opposite, so the sample fades out smoothly. Any suggestions?

Thanks to anyone with some suggestions.

first - effects. i never use em, personally - maaaybe an eq or compression every now and then or a chorus on the hi hats but otherwise do your best with what you have and worry about effects at another stage of production.

2nd - reverse before importing your sample to your mpc.

3rd - yes!! and good question. ok, say you have a bass onsehot already set to NOTE ON so when you remove your finger from the pad, it stops playing. what if you want a smoother stop? turn up the decay. remember - decay doesn't ADD ON anything to the wav, it simply continues playing what was already there after you remove your finger at a steady decline of volume.

set the decay to about 10-30 and see what you want. it sounds a lot smoother and less choppy. good stuff.

peace.

1: in one any track of your sequences you can insert a "change effect" event to recall the set of effects you want.
but bare in mind that you will need to mute this track after the event is sent as the "change effect" sometimes can disturb the timing a bit.

As far as effects. Just resample with the desired effects. If you want the same sample but with different effects, again just re-sample. You have the limit of your ram memory to do this.

Thanks Trend!

If you re-sample remember to put your master volume at 0db or you are going to run into frustrations.
