Warranty service on second hand machine?

I just picked up a 1K off ebay and notice that it has the commonly reported pad inconsitency - Pad 2 for example is hyper sensitive, while Pad 1 puts out a third of the level with the same hit (according to pad sensitivity screen.) Since it seems like these units need to be repaired by Akai anyway, I'm wondering if they honor warranty based on serial number? I'm not sure the seller knows when it was bought, etc.

(Have had it two days and can't stand the thought of being without it!)

Just call the service center and ask.

If they do, the machine needs to have a serial that is less than one year old. first digit is the month and next two are the year: 105 is Jan 05, A04 is Oct 04.

This is very noob question and I didnt want to put up new thread for this because I thought I could put it in here..

Where can I find the serial number on my MPC? I tried to search it, but I found couple of numbers and I dont know which is my serial..
It was used when I bought it, and the seller didnt gave me any serial number.
I want to know the serial number because I wanna register my MPC..

The serial # should be on the bottom of the machine.

I'm not sure if the warranty is transferrable, though.

the serial number is on the bottom of the mpc. its on the barcode of the unit.

but I have 2 barcodes in bottom of my MPC and I was kinda wondering which one is it (?) the other has 12 numbers and the another has 14, but first two numbers are in parenthesis..

The on where´s 12 numbers has MPC1000 text on top of the barcode.
The other one doesnt have anything.
I guess its the one with 12 numbers, but I´m just chekin`
