Hi!

I´ve heard that the 1k cans only assign the 4 mono outs to each pattern but not to tracks. So if I try to assign a pattern to a out in the mixer it only allows me to set two mono outs on one pattern.

Example:

pattern 1 ---> Stereo out

pattern 2 --- > out 1&2
pattern 3 --- > out 3&4

But why is this so? I need it like this:

pattern 1 --- > out 1
pattern 2 --- > out 2
pattern 3 --- > out 3
pattern 4 --- > out 4

Thx for replies!

Each "individual sample" can be assigned to one of the out puts.
You have six outputs to choose from.
MAIN L+R, 1+2,3+4 (you MUST use panning in the mixer page.)
You can think of these outputs of 6 Mono or 3 Stereo or a mixture of each.
PANNING is your answer.
Your attempt to output "Patterns" instead of individual samples is somewhat trickier but NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Since only individual samples can be assigned an output path you will have to keep track of which samples are in which pattern. If you are using the same sample in multiple patterns you will need to have multiple copies of the same sample with different file names so that you can send the sample to correct out.

Ah ok, I understand. Thnak u. But is it normal that i have to put master level on -30 db? Otherwise the soutput from the 4 mono outs is very very loud, so that i can´t record it to cubase without reaching the peak limit. Getting crazy here, what am I doing wrong?

The 4 indiv. outs are very loud. Lower the levels in mixer mode.

So I thought it would work like this, s h i t! Is it right that the FX can only be used on the stereo out?

The mpc FX don't give everybody wood. Sooo the 4 outs allow you to route your drum hit/sample to outboard gear. I just routed the outs to the Monomachine's inputs to use its delay FX and LFO. The 1k doesn't have any of that....

You can run each or your outs to a channel on Cubase and use effects there. They are much better quality. Record everything dry, then experiment with different effects.

i use the outputs this way:

1 - 1 Panned
2 - 1 Panned
3 - 1 Panned
4 - 1 Panned
R - 1 Panned
L - 1 Panned

this method will give you the ability to do your beat over six channels on your mixer, my mixer got effects, so i really don´t need fx on the 1234 channels, i use to mix things on my sampler first, then i mix it even more exactly at the mixer..
