This is a newbie question but sort of specific to 1k. The digital input and output on the back of the 1k accept regular RCA jacks. yes or no? And if yes how come when i run an RCA jack from my computers sound output, there is no sound in record mode on my 1k, isn't the computers sound card a digital source, please help?

The record input must be set to DIGITAL and the sampling rate going in is 44.1 kHz. If you're already there, maybe the cards output needs to be checked.

Are you sure that you are connecting the cable to a SPDIF output on the computer? By the sound of it you are connecting to analog on the computer which will not work. If you want to use analog you need to connect it to the analog on the MPC as well.

yeah, just using the headphone jack on the computer thats the problem, but the digital i/o on the 1k is meant for RCA jack, right?, and if i don't have a SPDIF out on my computer how do I go about getting, this shiz to work?

if you don't have a spdif out on your computer you don't have a digital out so don't bother trying to go to the mpc digital in, right?

(unless u have optical out, then you need some convertor but i woudn't bother)
