oh sh!t. i thought it was just me. i just did an akp import into blue box last night and the same thing happened. i thought it was just the way i did it. so i tried like 3 or 4 times and each time the same thing happened.
i saw waxaegis on here earlier but he was only here for a minute. i wonder if he's still doing updates to it.

i had a chuckle during your video "chopping with recycle" because i saw it happen there too, and you had to click to pad 2 to show that it does in fact load the sample... that made me thing.
it's no big deal, i just copy the 001.wav over to the first pad and manually move em all up 1 in the mpc. it takes maybe 5 seconds and doesn't give you any problems.
usually i reorder them manually anyway - but it's nice to have a "placeholder" in each pad so you don't have to scroll through hundreds of loaded samples to find the one you want.
i don't think wax even has an mpc anymore so i doubt any more bluebox updates. it's still a nice little program, and in conjunction with recycle it is phenominally powerful.

dam, you caught that in the video?
yeah, it happened then to. in fact, i think that was the first time that i noticed it. nah it doesn't bother me. either i just leave it as it is or i just add another sample to pad 01 in bluebox. recycle and blue box makes it extremely fast to chop and load samples

that and the fact that you weren't able to preview your sounds due to the fact that they were red in the pad sample selection box in bluebox.
but, of course, it's cool - i knew how to do that stuff before checking out the vid - hence my amusement at the same problems i find myself having. i just wanted to hear your soothing words.
i actually watched it to see if i was doing anything wrong with my akp stuff, as well as any other tricks i was missing. thanks for making that video, man - it's a great help to those just getting into recycle, and was helpful to me as well.
as we speak i'm actually chopping up a sitar and flute sample i got off university vinyl...these shondos don't know that the kid who takes out 5 records a day brings em back to his appartment to sample and scratch like a VD

I will look into that AKP import bug. I haven't fallen off the Earth; just been busy lately with a new job and getting married.
We have found evidence that hip-hop's standard 85 RPM, when increased by a number of at least half the rate of its standard or decreased to 3/4 of its speed, may be a determining factor in heightening consciousness.

I can't seem to find any of AKP files with samples on my computer, and I can't find any online. Can someone send me one or link me? E-Mail to [email protected]. Thanks.

when i import an akp into bluebox from recycle it assigns them to the pads just like you guys described, beginning with pad 2. how come my mpc doesn't open the program after saving the akp in recycle? do i HAVE to open and save in bluebox first?

I just remembered that I experienced that Pad A01 was skipped in BlueBox when importing Recycle AKPs. This might be because BlueBox basically runs the 'Make Pads Chromatic' function before importing (Pad A01 = Note 35, A02 = 36...), and if I remember correctly, Recycle doesn't assign anything to note 35. Hence the skipped first pad. If someone can send either or both of the following, I can verify this:
1) AKP w/ samples created in Recycle
2) AKP w/ samples not created in Recycle that MUST have a sample assigned to MIDI note 35.
If one or more of you can help me out with this, I'll see about verifying whether or not this is a bug w/ BlueBox or just that Recycle is skipping that note. I'll post what I find out.

Just found this on ol' Stereoroid's MPC FAQ http://www.stereoroid.com/sounds/mpc1000/faq.php :
"Recycle saves the MIDI file it so it plays the chopped bits in the right order at the right time and tempo. The MIDI range it uses starts at 36 and goes up."
So, this is indeed Recycle's doing. I suppose I could add an option to check off when importing, saying something like 'Recycle AKP'. When it's selected, it will start set Pad A01 starting with 36 instead of 35. This would allow you to use the pad that was previously being skipped.
