Im thinking of gettin an mpc1000, main reason is so i
can sample and then transfer to computer where i can use the sample
in logic pro 7 and reason to put effects on them(e.g delays on vocals in dance music etc.)_ especially on the vocals.

Can this be done?

and what would be the advantages of doing sampling
on mpcs compared to just recording from cds and vinyls into computer via midi!

i would suggest doing some research before you drop 1000 dollars on an mpc.
you dont sample cds and vinyls via midi. i would suggest downloading the free fruityloops demo. or buying dance ej or something.

either that, or learn a lot more about the mpc and about audio technology in general before you make any purchases. i may be wrong, but from your post it seems to me that you need to do some more research.

The straightforward way to get samples into your computer is to buy a good _soundcard_ with good _convertors_, then hook your turntable/mixer up to that. This doesn't involve 'midi', it involves 'audio'.

The real reason to use the MPC is to __combine__ all those samples into a __sequence__ by hitting the nice pads.
