I want to know who is getting rid of there mpc 1000. I have seen a bunch of them beening sold on here and Ebay. I bought one b/c thats the only way I could test it out. And I was like damn its a nice lil machine but some of the stuff on there I didnt like. Like the pads and the sequencing. I can make beats on it but I would prefer to go back to the 2k or XL. So what are your thought?

I'm not gonna sell mine. It does what I need it to do, and even more with the sample glitch that was recently discovered. Hopefully it will still work in the next OS, since I'm looking forward to installing a hard drive. Aslo there could be some other new functions in the new OS that might make me decide not to buy the 2500 in the future. If I do happen to buy the 2500 somewhere down the line, I'll still keep my 1000. Right now, everyone is selling their 1000s on ebay and other places, so even if I wanted to sell mine, I don't think now would be the right time at all.

I agree 1K percent!
Except for the HD part, cause i personally don't need one :)

I'll keep it. As soon as the adapter is available, i'll get a 20gb hd in it and that's it...
...but I won't give up hope, that Akai will bring some cool new features to it.
All in all, it's a very good tool to use with a existing pc production enviroment...

I will keep mine, even if i were to get the 4k i would keep my 1k.
Its a good machine and portable. Some chase the new gear and want the next big thing I saw it when i used to dj, people would by brand new Tech's and the Pioneer 500 mixer and couldn't even cut or mix anything. I have heard good music come from all sorts of gear.

Making music you like should be priority number 1.

Everyhting else falls into place.

Great portability, works well with apc, and you can make dope issh with just the 1k no pc. I see no point in upgrading to another mpc for myself. I like to use the 1k in combination with my other pieces of equipment (software, hardware), or just the 1k, and some old dirty vinyl. It depends on the mood I'm in.

not a chance. love my 1k.

once i realized that 2.5k does not have real time 'time stretch' (what it has is auto slice and map) i stopped worrying about the upgrade so much

i realize now im probably going to modify my 1k myself. I want:
1. black sides with blue face
2. a hardware mod to monitor the input even in Main screen
3. a knob that sends midi cc data (id like the qlinks to do that, but i don't have the skills, i'll probably just find a nice way to mount a small diy midi knob to the 2nd midi input)

The 2.5 does #2 and 3, but no way im paying another grand or more just for those!!!

Hell No. I have an ASR 10, EPS 16 Plus Rack and an Emax. I use the 1000 mostly for drums and to sequence. It works perfect for me. I really dig the size of the unit. I cam't make beats at my girl friends house when she is on that silly chit.

Don't envisage ever selling mine. Nothing else delivers the same immediate playability in a portable box.

I like it a lot, but over the months it has started to feel cheaper, dodgy pads, buttons etc. This makes me want to keep it, and just get new pads and buttons when they wear out.

Also, I bought it new and dont really want to sell it for a 3rd of the price just cos the market's flooded with 2nd hand ones from rich kids that couldn't work out how to 'make beats'

So I'm gonna definately keep it cause it's a cool bit of gear, and Jessiah's sample-glitch bug is excellent.

Tell you one thing though. It looks like shi t and this does matter to me. So I'll be getting the spraycan out eventually.

Red and Blue? What the hell were those crazy japs thinking.
