I'm looking at purchasing a MPC1000 on Friday to use in my studio mainly as a midi controller drum machine for use with the Fxpansion line of drum sounds: BFD, BFD XFL, BFD 8Bit, and BFD Deluxe (www.fxpansion.com)
How well are the pads on the MPC1000 and do you think this would be the best product for making beats? I will be using the pads alot and assigning each drum sound I want to use to each pad. I'm looking at quality of the pads, size and overall durability.
I hear a few people saying the MPC1000 pads are smaller than the MPC2000XL, 2500, etc and that those other models have better pads. I won't be purchasing a 2000XL or 2500 since sampling would only be something I would use once in awhile, plus OS 2.00 on the MPC1000 will make most 2000XL and 2500 users feel a bit jealous since the 'Small Wonder (MPC1000)' can pretty much do what they can.
