midi issues....help please

I have a microkorg hooked up to the mpc1000, but am still having problems with one sound coming out of the mpc even though I recorded different sounds on different tracks. I have the midi cables hooked up going both ways, but I am not sure I have the settings on the mpc and midi right. I understand about having the midi and mpc on the same channels(1 and 1A), but I don't really understand soft thru, active track? I am a trumpet player who is not that versed in this stuff, any help will be great.

thats a great lil synth but bitimbral meaning 2 sounds only but in layer form so really its just one sound. i use it as an effects processor and for making new sound with, its great synth and very powerful as for the active track and soft thru i remember reading about it in the manual when i was setting up multitimbral, if u got the manual in front of u read page 46at the very bottom and it has a definition of each one, hope that helps COUGH READ THE MANUAL dont skip pages everything is wrritten in that book for a reason there just not words for nothing
