File too big cant execute???

I have the 128 mb memory, and the when im gonna save all programs and samples to the internal memory i get the "File to big cant execute" shiit...
I cant find anything about it in the manual and i searched all over the place.

are you sure you got the actuall 128mb? when you turn your mpc on, how much memory does it say you have? did you buy the akai brand? did you by a third party brand? did you get 128 or 256?

i ask all these questions because it seems you are trying to save more than what you have.

How did you get those samples into the machine in the first place?
How big is the cf card/media you are saving to?

I bought the mpc1000 + carrying bag + memory from thomann
Called DMC-12 SDRAM DIMM For akai mpc1000 so the memory is correct.
I did recive the memory to day and mpc last week so i did change the "welcome message" , so i cant see if its says 128 mb, but then again in the load screen its says , Wave free : 112.6 mb
Seq free : 1648 lb

Im only trying to save some drum kits now that i got from the internet.
I have the original 32mb memory card

sounds like you need a bigger cf card.

Strange why would i need that? i only loaded it up with 9mb drums, i can hold 32 mb right?

Maybe the doesn't have enough space left to save the drums.

You'll wanna cop a bigger card for saving your stuff anyways. You'll go through the 32 megs on that card in no time.

yeah but that have to wait a few weeks atleast, but then again, the only shiit thats on the internal memory are those freakin factory sounds.

When you say "internal memory" I assume you´re not trying to save on to Compact Flash but rather mean the Flash Ram in the unit itself?

You can´t put that much in there, even if you have the 128 MB RAM expansion your internal Flash RAM with the factory sounds is still only 5 or 6 MB. So if it´s a huge stack of samples you want to save, do it on a CF card.

Besides, you don't have your samples and programs to RAM... you save them to the 1k's internal hd... much like a computer. So I'd say to pick a few essential programs, load them and save them one by one until you can't save them anymore...

point taken, but the 1k (as of yet) does not have an internal HD per say. there is part of the RAM that is used for the internal memory.
