Midi Troubles Pleez help If can...

Thanks to you guys im now the proud owner of mp 1000 . you guys give some great advice on this site and im also proud of being a member...Just got it yesterday used off ebay in perfect condition, so I quess i was lucky. The little mp is off the hook, its my first ever and i was already able to lay down so pretty tyt tracks (never goin back to computers ) with some basic samples...well off the chit chat... Im havin trouble sync'n my Pk6 (proteus 2000 keyboard) to my mp. I called up my big homie and he told what do mp wise, so the mp iz ready to go and i thought i set my pk6 up right too, but still no luck. I was wonderen if anybody on here thatz use'in an mp and a proteus 2000 can drop with a lil advice...and also why do i need a mixer??? all i needed before was my keyboard and protools??

Yo C'A, I got the PK6. go to the controllers menu on the PK6, in base tempo select ext. this will slave to the mpc. the mpc will have to be sync out A or B.(you said big homie already hooked you up). the mixer is to hook up the AUDIO. midi carries no audio, just info to tell the keys,module what sounds to play.
