memory question (urgent)

I went to the store and ask for a PC133 144pin 256MB sodim ram Memory and the clerk handed me one, but it seemed to big for the mpc?, is that the right one?, or there 2 type of these memories (laptop or desktop)

It has to be laptop memory.

You didnt read the Sticky did u?

144 pins are laptop memory. that would be too small for desktop motherboards. they take 168pins. regardless of what the clerk gave you, what does the packaging say?
