sandisk ultra II 1Gb CF

hey guys,

Ive been lurkin here for a while, I pretty much enjoy reading the forums
I havent participated till now, and I wouldnt start if I didnt find a scary post by tiger vomitt, back in page 9, where he reports that sandisk ultra II 512M CF didnt work for him.
Problem is I just bought the 1G version of that card and havent had a chance to try it yet. I dont know if it will work (can only try this evening) but the suspense is killin me, so if anyone has successfully used the sandisk ultra II cards can you please put me out of my misery?
I have the regular sandisk 512M and it works fine, but I still have seen many people complaining on them as well.. so maybe there's hope still

And while Im here, must I format the card on the mpc, or can I just format it with FAT16 in another card reader? (just bought one of those usb readers, so I dont have to use the usb on the mpc, and I can take advantage of the faster card for transfer.. thats why I bought the ultraII model, and also cause it has 10y warranty, so it cant be that bad..)

dont really know.. but really the only conclusive answer your gonna get it by putting it in your 1K and finding out. if someone said they tried it and it didnt work its quite possible the card was dud, they didnt format it right etc...

youre right, who am I kiddin, must try it tonight, then I'll let you all know how it went.. maybe I can spare someone else the frustration of blowing 120€ on a card that is "too good" for the mpc

Never tried the Ultra II myself.
I would format the card in your MPC since you'd want it work best on that.
Let us know if it worked or not

i own the sandisk ultra II 2.0gb flashcard for mpc1000 and it works great i bought it the same day with my mpc1000

I now had the chance to try it with a couple of songs and it works great! I even feel that it has gone a little faster, with the mpc that is, but I must actually time it before I can guarantee that. I 'll have a chance to spend more time with it over the weekend, then I'll let you know

Yeah, those Ultra II's have faster data transfer rates, but i didn't know the MPC supports that.
