im getting my 1000 thurs or friday (its shipping) and i was wondering about the storage of compact flash. first, is it difficult to audition sounds?
with the usb, can you use this to search another hard drive for sounds while you are working? just curious what th work flow is like when your putting a songs kit together. ive owned a 60 and 2000 in the past and i just put in different disks and loaded drums until i found what i wanted. thanx for any help.........................

it is impossible to audition sounds using the current os without actually loading the sounds onto the mpc. when the new OS drops you will have that ability. you can not continue to work on the mpc while it's connected to the computer. you may want to do a search on here for program creators. if you have a pc, search for blue box. if you have a mac, search for pad187. these softwares allow you to make mpc pgms on your computer then transfer them over to your mpc. fellow forum members wrote both of them, they are free downloads.

you also may want to order the HDM10 and a hard drive to put inside your mpc.
