Help with midi set up and Reason

I've searched and I can't seem to find my specific problem. I'm pretty
lame when it comes to midi stuff, sorry. Here's my problem. I'm using
Pro Tools LE on one Mac and Reason on a second Mac. I have an M-Audio
Firewire 410 hooked up to the Reason Mac. I trigger the Reason sounds
via a Korg M1 on a midi track in Pro Tools. Here's my chain: Korg midi
out to Protools midi in, Protools midi out to MPC 1000 midi in, MPC midi
out to Firewire 410 midi in. Everythings working fine, except I can't figure out
how to stop triggering the MPC when I hit the keys on the M1. All I want to
do is sync the MPC to Protools, nothing else. I know I'm missing something.
I've tried changing the midi channel that the Akai receives and I've tried
turning off soft thru. Nothing works. It's either accidentally trigger the
MPC or no response from Reason. Any ideas? Thanks.

Pro Tools is Master, MPC 2000 is the Slave.
MBC = MIDI Beat Clock
MTC = MIDI Time Code

MIDI Connections:
MIDI OUT of MPC 2000 > MIDI IN, Digi 001 (Or other MIDI Interface)
MIDI OUT of Digi 001 (Or other MIDI Interface) > MIDI IN, MPC 2000.

Setup in Pro Tools and OMS:
1) As of this writing MIDI Beat Clock, although not providing
positional
information is the fastest for lock up. The following setup is for both
MTC
and MBC. (when using MTC provide a bar or two of pre-roll)
2) Configure OMS: In Pro Tools LE > Setups menu > OMS Studio Setup.
(If it
says "Please Find OMS: Desktop > Mac HardDrive > Opcode Folder > OMS
Applications > OMS Setups.) Configure OMS, so the Akai MPC 2000 is
hanging
off the Digi 001.
3) Verify the MPC 2000 device in OMS ; receive/send MTC and MBC(MIDI
Beat
Clock) are checked;" is controller" and "is multitimbral" are checked
4) In Pro Tools: MIDI Menu > MIDI Beat Clock > Enable MIDI Beat Clock >
Enable the MPC 2000. (This step is not necessary when using MTC).
5) In Pro Tools: Setups > Peripherals> Sync > Generic MTC Reader >
Port=
MPC 2000 (or, other Midi Interface of choice or "Any")
6) In Pro Tools: Windows > Show Session Setup > FR=30 (Frame Rate)
Enable
MTC to port = MPC 2000.
7) In the MPC2000: Shift 9 to MIDI Sync Page > FR=30(Frame Rate) >
Select
Sync, Midi Clock (stands for MIDI Beat Clock); Choose either MTC or
Midi
Beat clock here. Scroll to MIDI Clock for both MIDI Sync IN and Sync
OUT.
Receive MMC - OFF, port 1. (There are 2 MIDI INS and 2 MIDI outs on the
MPC
2000; VERIFY the MIDI cable going from the MIDI interface into either
MIDI
IN Port 1 or MIDI IN Port 2 corresponds to the Port selected on the MPC
2000's Midi sync menu)
When using MTC for syncing and not MBC. Press Play on thePro Tools
transport. The MPC 2000 will wait for time code from Pro Tools before
starting. Note: the tempo will need to be set in Pro Tools because it
is
the master.
9)When using MBC for syncing and not MTC. Press PLAY on ProTools, it
will
trigger the MPC 2000. Note: the tempo will need to be set in Pro Tools
because it is the master.

In this configuration, the tempo (Beats Per Minute) should be set in
Pro Tools.

1) In Pro Tools: Windows > Show Transport > Disable Conductor on the
Transport > Select the BPM amount and type in the BPM you would like >
Press Enter.
2) You can select the Meter on the Transport by double clicking on the
4/4
or MIDI Menu > Change Tempo or Change Meter.

****Please note that, setting up the MPC 2000 to receive MTC allows for
better sync to Pro Tools. Using MBC might lock up faster, but the MPC
2000
will not sync up at exactly the right spot. It will always be a bit
off.

the mpc 1000 doesn't have MTC.

sounds like you need to make sure the soft thru on protools is turned on to me.
