problem with looping

Im having trouble looping a sample so that it sounds clean.....no matter where i trim it...i cant seem to make the sample so it loops cleanly....

do you guys have any techniques to make a sample loop cleanly? Also...how do you guys match a sample to a bpm without timestretch...(ie using tune)....what steps do you take?

without timestretch i find myself sitting here tryn to tune a sample to my bpm for days....

chop smaller samples.

i chop all notes i can discern into separate files. that way you don't even need to timestretch, mostly.

set your mute groups, recreate the melody you want sampled (or better yet, rehash the chopped notes into something YOU want instead) and you're good to go.

Depending on the sample i usually build my beat around the sample which in my opinion gives it the original feel that made you sample it in the first place but like NYM said just chop it some more and use mute groups, which will give you something similar to the original sample but i think you want the original sample to play the same way it was sampled so with that being said next time lay the sample down first then build your beat around it i guarantee it will come out tight and if its a tricky sample turn that damn TC off.
