1000 as a sound module

can i use the 1000 as a sound module? meaning, what if i wanted to sequence the mpc with pt, but use the sounds from the 1000. thanx for any help..........................................

yes you can sequence sounds loaded in to the mpc from protools.

thanx for the reply. how would i go about setting this up? ive read the manual and cant figurre it out. when i have the midi out from the mpc connect to the midi in of pt. it goes crazy. i hit one pad and it goes on forever and wild, like all the sounds are going crazy. i have to disconect the cable for it to stop.

well, you want to control the mpc with protools so you have to connect the midi out from protools to the mpc's midi in.

ive done that. i have the mpc midi out to midi in in pt, and mpc midi in to pt midi out. ive hooked it up like i would any other keyboard etc....

keep in mind that only one track at a time can be sequenced from something else.

(ie the mpc is not multitimbral to external midi).

i understand that, but it still doesnt help me. pt wont even recognize a midi message.
