what are my production limitations?

i just got this mpc 1000 yesterday, with a standard 32 meg cf card.

i guess i must have standard ram too..


what are my sampling time and composition capabilities?

if its brand new off the shelf then yeah you have the standard 16mb ram.

and i think the samplin time right now with your stock cf card is 10secs.

the stock cf card has bonus samples and tracks on it so that i gather its the reason why the sample time is so low.

16mb should yield more than 10secs sample time.

nono, there is a good 16 mb free out of the 32 mb of the card iirc. the limitation you have is that your MPC is automatically loading the included sounds, which most people wouldn't want, i think with the memory (RAM) of your MPC clear you get like 1-2 minutes of sampling time.
