thinking about 2500 instead of 1000

I have a 1000 but lately ive been checking out the 2500....its pretty sweet...i like the size of the pads because on the 1000 i miss them sometimes when im whilin out on it...the other hardware and software features look attractive....any of you think returning the 1000 and paying more to get a 2500 is a wise decision?

probably not, in 90% of instances i can imagine

unless you're rich, want more midi outs, or bigger pads, i can't imagine any other real reason why it'd be better.

plus, it's not as portable as the mpc1000, which is a huge drawback in my most humble of opinions (and as a man of the cloth, you should hold my opinion in high regard)

you dont got to be rich....do a home invasion or rob a couple of couples on a good side of town and you got your self an mpc 2500.....

but the 1000 is the way to go if you move around alot or you travel...

yea...i like to have a pretty big size workstation....

im able to make some pretty sick shit with the 1000 as it is...and yea...i like the portability of it....but...i never really use that aspect of it. The only thing is im trying to decide whether or not the size of the 2500 is worth the extra **** 1000 bux. o_o

i suggest though that you give a try at taking your mpc1000 for a spin. go produce someplace public - load yourself up with a bunch of samples and chopped phrases and just go nuts. get stoned and go to some quiet bar or coffee place. whatever you like man.

but before you upgrade (which would be cool if you wanted to, i'm nobody to bash a different machine) try using the mpc1000's portability. THAT is what has grabbed me most about it.

Let me just add that you dont have to be rich to own a 2500.

If you already have an MPC 1000 (and like what it has to offer) and you decide to upgrade to a 2500...you will not regret your purchase.

if you have lots of other gear go for it

if you need more synths or mics right away then stick with the 1k

They seem pretty similar to me. And the 1k is so cheap right now (Ebay), i would almost buy another one!

well i decided to stick with it for now untill i get some money...then ill get the 2500 for sure. In terms of equipement....i got a turntable for sampling...mixer...2 keyboards, the mbox 2, an ibook and my 1k. not too much...but then again...more than i need...

tried a 2500, made a beat and it felt nice.
unless you need the extra midi outs the 1000 is still nice
i like how on the 1000 everything is just at my fingertips, prob just what i'm used to. I dont think the price gap is justified for myself yet.
