hi, i am using a mpc2k classic and i am very interested on the mpc1k. can you help me with some questions, cant find the answers:
which sound engine use the mpc1k? difference between 1k+2k? i really like the mpc sequenzer and the workflow, but the 2k soundengine (same as the s2000 sampler, right?) not really blows me away. i have also an emu e6400 sampler and for punchy stuff the s900 and there are worlds between the mpc2k sound.....should i go to the mpc1k instead? sounds this mpc like the new 2500? hope this tread dont exist allready?

16 bit, 44.1 kHz. I think that's all there is to it. If you don't like the sound of the converters you can just use the USB option :D

word 55 bucks! super cheap man. i would get it and just hook it up midi to my 1000. i would use it for my drums and basslines.werd em up.

hi!
if you can get the s900 cheap, then take it. its lofi, but with crisp (12bit - same soundengine as the mpc60) and as you write ideal for drums and bass, of course for hiphop stuff.....
to my question: how sounds the 1k? clean? better than 2k? bader then 2k? i know, its subjectiv, but let me know what you think....
whats about the sequenzer? tight as the 2k?

PS: my advise, if you want a really good sounding hardware sampler, is to buy an emu e6400... sounds extreme good with fantastic filters (morphable)...
can hear it by chemical brothers a lot

I've had a mpc2000 before an 1000. Ive believe that my 1000 sounds cleaner but that can be my opinion. The 1000 out classes my old 2000 in everyway but the pads on my 2000 felt better and I like the the bland, "it's not a toy" color scheme. By the way, you can't send audio through the usb port on the 1000.

maybe he meant if you didnt like the sampling on the mp you could just transfer the wav file..but sampling gives it a more fuller sound than transferring it...
