Hard Drive Installed.. what's next?

What up fellas (and ladies?) I just joined the forums- got my 1000 fro VST today with the free 128MB RAM and the HDM10 kit installed- and put in the same drive Sparq got, the 100GB Toshiba. Obviously I can't use most of that storgae until the OS update comes out, but I'm new to the hardware game (been making beats w/Acid Pro & Reason for the past 7-8 years) and I don't see any info on accessing the HD in the manual. I know it's a new addition, and I formatted it via the 1000, but all I'm able to access when I connect the MPC to my PC is the CF card... I'm tryin to dump a bunch of drums and sample os it to get started.. any suggestions?

He probably feels better than I do with my (stock) 32MB card that I've been using for 2 years.

congrats on the purchase of the 1k. and the 100 gb drive is nuts. as far as what thepillage said about only seeing 2gb, yes, that's true but know when the new os becomes available, you will see the entire 100gb. now lets bang them pads to make that fire.

wow.. not even 24 hours, and 'internet beef'. I'm a "fag" because I bought a 100 gig drive that I'll be able to use in the very near future. You're a quick one.. and not to mention clever... I hope your beats are HALF as tight as your comebacks... why dont you tighten up your music game instead of looking for people to type angry at- I bet this was the highlight of your day.. "pillaging" the MPC 1000 board.

ppl clearly spend too much time on the forum caring about unimportant things. 2 gigs is blatently much better than what most ppl with mpcs have, and 2 gigs is pos more than i would ever need, if the hd adapter never came out, i wouldnt even think about needing more space, now its out, its more extra gadgets on my need-to-buy list. im fine with the pc for now, but seriously that new os update is gonna allow the mpc to become a seriously powerful tool.

no offense directed to the honest and very helpful ppl on this forum, but some ppl use the board as if its a school playground or sumthing. whats whining gonna get u, we all know the os is on its way, who gives a fuk.

Thats two gigs more than im gonna be using in the near future, this geezer got himself sorted with the setup he just bought. u can make a lot of music using a surprising low amount of space, 2-100 gig hd are certainly not essential but damn useful.

you gotta remember that a 2 gig CF cost as much as a 100 gig harddrive. so its very stupid to own a 2 gig cf card at this point. plus 2 gigs are hard to fill up unless your loading up whole records. leave that akai bashing scumbag alone, he dont respect nothin man, just close this thread and be out.
