hi! i get today an email from akai-support germany, think, thats interesting for all:

Hallo,

in der MPC2500 und der MPC1000 arbeiten Sample Engines, die wohl nicht direkt mit einem Hardware Sampler vergleichbar sind, der momentan von Akai angeboten wird. Vielmehr handelt es sich um eine erweiterte S3200 Engine.

Ds OS2.0 für die MPC1000 wird innerhalb der nächsten 3 Wochen vorgestellt werden. Falls die MPC1000 Pads kaputt gehen sollten, kostet ein Austausch ca. 120€.

and for non german speaker:

- os2.0 will be released until the next 3 weeks
- mpc1k + 2500 has same soundengine as the s3200 (thats sounds good to my ears )
- pad exchange (if they are killed) cost about 120,- Euros

Auf jeden Fall...sobald das OS und die HD raus is lass ich erstmal ne Runde Sektkorken knallen. Wer will, kann gerne vorbeischauen.
