my compact flash reader

when i put any of my flash cards into the cf reader on my 1000, the screen turns all yellow... and if i take it back out, the screen stays yellow, so i lost everything that was on the mpc......... i have to turn if off and on again. so basically i cant use the cf at all... im guessing i need to change the cf reader but i did nothing to mess it up, it just happened for no reason, i didnt drop, spill anything on the 1000 . any answrs would help

check inside the reader, to see if any pins are bent.
