Akai will eventually release the OS and the 1000 black here in the states.

They will also release the Black kit so folks can go out and change the color of their bluebox to black.

AND...


The BLUE represents the color of my balls being teased about the release of OS 2

SO....


My 1000 will remain RED & BLUE to represent the struggle for the common producer.

The color scheme it comes with is so lame I HAD to change it.

But good for you....

It all works the same no matter what color it is.

yeah, i brought that info to the boards when i was told about it by akai. it was stated that it would be available around the 1st quarter of the year.
