time shift question

hi everyone. i'd imagine all will be revealed in time with os2, but can someone tell me what the mean by "offline" in referring to the time shift and pitch functions?

no real time.. its rare timestretch is real time although possible... best equivalent is patch phrasing... which this has too.. which is brilliant.. :D
