A lot of it doesn't even make sense, unless there is something that I don't know of. I know there were supposed to be no more 2.0 threads, but I was under the impression that that was only until it was released. If this is not the case, forgive me. I can also completely understand the need for some structure, and I respect the need to keep things relevant. But I started a thread the other day letting people know that they'd have to format the hard drive to get 2.1 to recognize the full drive, like we were told we wouldn't have to do, and someone locked the thread. Someone starts a thread telling people about the usefulness of printing the manual as opposed to reading it on a monitor, and someone moves the thread to off topic. I honestly fail to see how the manual for the 1k is off topic in the 1k forum. I've been noticing this a lot lately, and it's been confusing the hell out of me.

True, but what are you gonna do? The OS 2.x threads were getting a little out-of-control, but as for the other forum moves, you (and I) probably won't understand them. Every board is different, so you have to expect things to run differently.

This thread will probably be locked shortly too.

i agree... some of the threads do seem a bit randomly locked..

I also think there really should be sub catergories...

MPC 100
-> Newbies
-> OS 2
-> General
-> Hardware
-> Customisations
-> eBeef for sad bastards
-> Misc

That is soooo not going to happen! There's enough forums here, without the MPC1000 crew having their own set of mini forums. Can you imagine what the MPC2000 owners would say...?

As to locking, I will talk to the mods about this. But see it from their point of view (and mine) - there's been absolute mayhem here over the past couple of months, lot's of little babies wetting their pants and getting all upset about the OS2 situation, so an 'iron fist' was needed to try to keep it under control.

Hopefully the babies have all gone somewhere else now and we can get on with a nice stable forum.

That'd probably be murder on the db, and I don't really see a need for that.

Heh, are you still coming with that beatmaking on the 1k ebook? You know a price, already?

It's being finished as I type. There's lots of stuff to add now OS2 is out, so it may be a few more weeks - I'm trying to come up with some tutorials for the LFO and all the other 'extras' that the XL doesn't have. Price will be the same as the XL book

I agree with you 100%... especially for both of the threads we started that are entirely relevant to the MPC1000. Moving these threads to Off Topic is completely defeating the purpose, but yet it's okay to keep threads here for samples and loops that can be used with every MPC from the 2000 up??? Now that really makes no sense at all! :!:

These forums are here to share information. If the information we share that is relevant gets moved, then what's the sense of even bothering to contribute?

if you don't like it here start another MPC forum, it's that simple. I admit mods need to better monitor with out deleting like a wild bangee. but there are rules here. 8)

what people are forgetting, this is Tutor's site. this thread was created with a question, (which is fine and all) but tutor himself replied to the question. PERIOD. and even after he replied there are people still voicing their concerns. if Tutor wanted to close this entire site, that will be his choice and we would/could not say anything to stop him. in other words, we all have to play by his rules.

i for one have deleted/locked threads because they were either of no relevance or very repetitive. i do understand all of your concerns with the request of starting sub groups or reorganizing or questioning why threads are moved/locked/deleted. but if the search function was used properly according to the instructions, you can find anything, in any section and virtually by any member with out a problem.

i will try to clean some of this stuff up but the unfortunate thning is, we (at least i don't) don't have the ability to take a single post and place it in another thread.

to para-phrase another forum member, "if you don't like it here, start another MPC forum.

i am not saying this to offend anyone.

Exactly why I do what I do. I don't do it too piss people off, I do it because of THAT right there. If everyone acted maturely I wouldn't have to do anything.

" ...........if the search function was used properly according to the instructions, you can find anything, in any section and virtually by any member with out a problem."
Very true.

"This thread will probably be locked shortly too."
Why would you think that? Never mind, just, never mind.

Before I locked/deleted anything I TOLD you guys what the deal was, actually a few times in every thread I was explaining myself, then it got to be so repititive I gave up and just stop explaining.

" I admit mods need to better monitor with out deleting like a wild bangee."
When peeps start using more common sense man, I leave stuff alone.
This can go both ways though man, I'm not saying you T, I have no probs w/ u but when stuff is WAY outta order I got clamp down.
