Hi, I'm having problems installing 2.1 on my mpc, just curious if anyone can help. I've downloaded the mpc1kv210.bin file from akaipro.com to my computer. Then copied it to my compact flash drive on my mpc. Threw away the icon in the trash, then unhooked the usb cable. Now I followed the instructions to install the new os. (Turn the power on the mp while holding down the window button, then hit record to install the new os. I've done this successfully with 1.07, but now when I do it, I get this error message on the mpc...

MPC1000 Bootblock Version 1.03
Boot on OS update mode
Total Memory Size : 128Mbytes
Detected FAT16 Volume
Os file searching...
A corrected OS file wasn't found
current os start after 5 sec.

Then the mpc just loads as normal, and when I go to 'other' to check which os is running it says 1.07. Has anyone seen this problem? I've tried deleting the .bin file and re-downloading it from akai pro, and this website, as well as use another cf card, but nothing works. Please HELP!!! Thanks

how many .bin files do you have on that CF card? in order to update without a problem, you have to have only one bin file on it. (it doesn't matter if you have other stuff on the card, but only 1 bin file has to be there) search through the card to make sure then try to reinstall the 2.1 update.

?

do you have HD in the 1k? if so format it first. Go back to akaipro.com and
download the 2.0 . Once done, drag it over to the CF unplug the usb after
download is complete. Turn MP off and repeat uploading the 2.0.
See that Sparq's beat me to it. make sure that .bins r remove this could be what's conflicting the bootup! 8)
sometimes even deleting the Icon the usb connection is still recognized <>to th PC. 8) 8)

alright got it working... I did search for other .bin files, and there was only that one. So I just broke down, and backed up the cf card and formatted it. Then just put the one .bin file on it, and the mp loaded it up right away. I must've had a corrupt file on the cf card that I didn't know about. thanks again...

glad you got it working, note: to many .bins or Os can cause conflict wth the latest O.S kinda like loading windows o.s "s back n forth. jus b careful of back loading an O.S because of bug issue's you can mess things up quickly. 8) 8)
