CORRECTION OF PATCH PHRASE REQUEST

Hi People,
I am trying to use the patch phrase effectively but the video doesnt quite show it properly can somebody please describe it step by step? ive look in the archives but havent found anything yet.
The problem i am having is matching the tempo with the metronome when recording,after converting.

you are right, i didn't show the patch phrase the right way. to effectively use it, when slce, before converting, make sure your slice points are on point (no pun intended) then when you convert into patch phrase, along with setting the original tempo, you have to mess around with the release setting. it defaults to 10 (i think... i'm at work now) but read the manual, it explains what the release setting is for.

Setting the original tempo correctly is ABSOLUTELY VITAL too, dude.

And don't necessarily rely on the tempo detect, as people have pointed out it can be faulty. Loop your sample manually, tap the tempo, or drop the non-patchphrase sample at the start of a sequence and tweak till you get that original tempo, because it will work straight once the original tempo is filled in correct.

If it's NOT filled in correctly, your patch phrase just won't work as expected, period. Decay times are cool and all to try and fake slower tempos but without the original tempo set correctly, you're **** out of luck. That's why sparq's video the PP didn't work correctly, because he didn't spend a lot of time trying to get the original tempo, he was just pushing out a video for everyone to check out shit. Plus he hadn't had it that long when he did the video.

Once it's on, it works pretty well, though it'd be cool if it was stereo!!

damn right about that. i think i did like 5 or 6 videos that night.

I know you had everybody thinkin you were a video prodigy, I was like "throw up some stuff with realtime filters!" but you didn't have your cam back and all, haha. Whatever it's all out there now for people to mess with.

listen guys i understand how to use pp and everything but i was wondering...... what the f^$( is it for????? all i can think is to get stuttering effects ryt?? any explanation of any other use would be appreciated.thanks... peace.

the closest thing to explain what patch phrase is, is to know about recycle.

in short it would give your sample the "effect" of real time, time stretch.
