losing volume on sampled loops? help please

hi all-

this has to be easy, and i'll get it eventually...... but..... i have some percussion loops sampled and trimmed. they sound great in edit mode. but when i assign them to pads, they lose volume as they decay and don't play completely thru at full, sampled volume. and then i hear it ending. is it the way i trimmed them?

this is simple, right? what is it? this never happened in 1.07, NOT that i'm complaining

and what's the big deal? it's a black mpc...... whoop de damn doo:-)
