Man, I just can't believe it.

I was working on a beat and suddenly (as I'm recording some percussion on one track) my sequence is "kinda" LOST.

It's really strange - because everything is still there - BUT it just won't play it correctly.

I immidiately pushed the undo button and thought maybe something was just effed up when recording.

BUT it STILL doesn't work.

It's a 8 bar beat and it just plays the first half bar then NO SOUND - BUT the sequence still running! :?: :?: :?:

What the F*CK is this?

I'm really p*ssed of because there are a few hours of work gone.

I immidiately saved my sequence and tried to switch the mpc on and off - and then reload the sequence - BUT it's still there.

and the funny thing is - I have a few other sequences in that "song".

ALL work fine - EXCEPT this one.

I really need some HELP.

Hours of work are gone !!!

I'm really lost. (BTW, this is the second time - that this BUG occurs to me - BUT the first time after recording the track - the undo button did the trick - this time no luck.) :x :x

Check the mutes are turned off on all the tracks.

There are no mutes !!!

I double-checked everything !

I even turned the fx, all filter and lfo settings off - NOTHING !!!

It still doesn't work.

jaysounds wrote:i just toggled the loop button on/off, and now it records without a hitch, might be worth bearing that in mind next time it happens (not saying thats the cure.... but might be!)

That was also one of the things I've tried almost immediately - but it didn't make a difference - unfortunately.

it is weird, say i sequence 4 bars and copy it till it is 8 bars long, if i start from bar 5 it plays the sequence fine, but if i let it run from bar 1 it plays nothing after bar 4 has finished!
is that whats happening to you?

i cant believe this shit!

this is a crazy bug unless im missing something,,, which i dont think i am.
this is a sequencer goddamit! let me sequence!

No, no, no !!

It was a simple 8 bars beat.

It CAN NOT be the voice limit !!!

If I separate just the snare track and play it SOLO - it's the same problem.

It plays only one snare hit on the 1.2 - then nothing - but the sequence is still runnin'.

The sequence plays it's 8 bars of NOTHING and then starts again with the 1.2 snare hit - then again NO SOUND.

BUT the midi data is definately there - I've checked it.

The track is perfectly recorded - snares on the 1.2, 1.4, 2.2, 2.4, etc.

but it plays only the one snare hit on the 1.2.

I even (even if there was no other data) ERASED every data EXCEPT NOTE on the snare track - doesn't help either.

I AM PRETTY SURE that this is some really weird BUG, that should be fixed really quick - because I can't rely on a machine that just let's my beats disappear - OR rather REFUSES to play them correctly.

For every minor bug there should be workable workarounds - BUT THIS just S*CKS.

I'm really desperate - because I really enjoy the new OS - but f*cked sequences are a BIG NO NO.

yo fasttracker i just heard ur track, damn dude that is weird how it just cuts off like that, that is strange. could it be a clip issue for u though? heres a geuss and i dont know maybe in global setting where u can choose the master level. change it back to default witch was -12db. thast mode+other then global. try setting it to 0 and see if it has same effect. for the other guys check ur sequence make sure if the decay was not messed with by some weird means, when i first got the os2 i noticed when im recording in step edit. the key i hit will change the decay of that note now im geussing here but just to be safe look at ur sequence make sure the decay isnt 0 check ur velocity as well make sure its not 0. i havent foold with the new lfo, im only in chapter11 page 58 in the manual. so when i get to it ill fool with it. it can be anything really. sorry im of no help :-(

I found a workaround - it's so simple (I couldn't believe that I didn't have the idea sooner) !!!

It's not that perfectly elegant solution - BUT it works so don't ask.

At least your work will not be gone.

IT'S SO SIMPLE - just take an "empty" sequence and then COPY track by track from your faulty sequence to your new sequence !

AND THERE YA GO - you should be set and ready to go.

E D I T:

it works just partially !!!

at least I have now 3 1/2 bars to work with.

This is just plain weird.
