Live performance methods for loops

Those of you using the AKAI MPC series, (I have the 1000) would you mind explaining your preferred methods of doing a live set with it?

I'm particularly interested in methods for triggering loops. Do you find you use 'note on' for triggering the loop or "one shot"? So far, I have been happy with using 'note on', but I could see potentially where a 'one shot' might be useful. (Perhaps right before a transition?)

I could potentially figure it out on my own, but sometimes it's best to learn from other's expertise. Furthermore, some of the most valuable information would be what NOT to do...

Any insights on how you MPC vets are doing it, is *greatly* appreciated.

it all dpends on your style. i'm sure you're aware of the differences, from what i'm reading. just use what suits you best, given how much control you'd like to have over any particular loop.

I have a mpc 1k with the HD m 10 kit and i have bought a hard drive "fujitsu MHT2040AH 40gB 5400R/min 8 MO " and i haven't formated the disk with my mpc (save menu utilities format) but i have tried connect her to mY powerbook with usb and my computer said that the disc haven't a mac volume.
I have tried to format with the mac's disk utilities and i have received no result; after i tried with a pc and i have no result too .
The mpc recognizes the hard drive but she says on the save menu that there is 0 Mb free space.

Have you an explication or a solution to my probleme.

you are just NOT at the right place here...
Try and format the disk from the MPC utilities, not from your computer.
