What is the best way 2 record your beats to a MP3 file?

I just need what 2 buy for transfering a beats that i made 2 my pc. Is there a specific program that converts a mpc file to a mp3 file?

Thx bro, but 4 the Steinberg Cubase SE Recording Software, what do u need 2 have. I mean the kabels en that kind. Is it possible 2 do it wit regular jacks?

I prefer my mbox and ProTools. I like the software, plus the mbox has a SPDIF (digital) in which I can use with the M1K to bypass all the A/D and D/A conversion and get a little crisper sound.

If you're really on a budget you can get a dual 1/4" to stereo 1/8" cable (Like I have to sample out of my computer into the MPC) and just hook it up to the outs of the MPC and into the Line In of your sound card. You can hook up to the mic input, but you'll have to mess with the levels big time, and will get lots of extra noise.

Forgot to mention that you're gonna need an application to record with. I believe Audacity is a free 2-track WAV editing/recording application. Run that on your computer, hit record, and press play on your MPC.

I prefer Steinberg Wavelab for 2-track editing/recording.

if i want to be fast and dirty (which is all the time) I just finalize my sequnces and enter song mode. The I 'sample' the whole song into the MPC by canging the sample input to internal. I save the wav file, move it over to my pc, convert to mp3, drop it on my ipod and keep it moving.

but audacity does not come with an mp3 converter. you have to have a plug-in to convert a session from audacity to mp3. it exports it to wav with no problem.

You could also track out the beats in multitracks (kick on one track, snare on another, and so on) using only the MPC itself. You do excactly the same as the method described above, but you solo the track you want to have on a track on its own.

I just bought 2 new jacks, i have a motherboard soundcard. I plug the 2 jags in the stereo out (right and left) of my mpc1000. Then i plug 2 kabels into it and plug it into my pc soundcard (the pink and green inputs). Then i open a soundrecordin program, but is wont detect any sound. I must doing someting wrong, can u people help me please. Thx and Peace.

Why not just use the internal main out sampling function of the MPC1000? It will give you waaaaay better audio quality than you onboard soundcard. And btw, you should have used the blue input. The pink is a mic input and the green is a line output.

audacity is best bang for buck audio editor cos its free.... also wavelab costs $$$$ for what it is.. tho it is good at mastering.
