... is driving me crazy. I never realized how anal I was until I started using the MPC1000. I like to have all of my things organized. This has proven to be a real battle on the MPC1000. I'm not just satisfied with having everything in separate folders. I want order to those folders. For example, I want the first file on the hd or cf card to be my New template which is my default setup and also is Autoloaded at startup. Then I have a specific folder order and I get real upset if the samples aren't alphabetical. So now, I find myself dragging files and folders manually to preserve the order I want. I've learned how Windows copies files so that I may create the folders and have the files copied alphabetically. Anyway, I sure hope that Akai has a more forgiving file/folder viewing feature in an updated OS. Time for me to stop being anal and start makin' beats.
Here's a few tips:
1. The MPC displays files/folders in the order that they are written to the media. Keep this in mind when organizing content.
2. Windows: If you drag a folder that has subfolders containing files, the files in the subfolders will be copied in reverse order. The workaround is to copy these subfolders manually and then select the files in the outer folder to be copied.
3. Windows: Sometimes the first file gets copied last. The workaround is to create a few dummy files at the top of the list alphabetically, so when Windows copies the files, the one appearing last will be a dummy file that you can later delete.
