Memory card issues with ibook + mpc 1000

So far this board has had the answers everytime, so here is another question..

Anyone else experienced a bug where it keeps saying the memory card is full when there is like 27 MB free? This is driving me mad. I know with the mpc2000 and zip disks you could never quite get 100MB of storage, but this is ridiculous!

Just to clarify - I'm using the 32MB "extra track" card that ships with the mpc (which I've reformatted in the mpc-maybe this is the problem?) and an apple ibook g4. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh and sorry if this has already been asked. I couldn't find anything about it.

if you're sure about that free space on your card, try saving what's on there onto your computer and then reformat the card via the mpc (not connected to your computer) then move the contents back to your CF card.

Thanks for the reply - actually that was the first thing I tried, but it didn't make any difference (I tried it several times).

I've found a workaround where I can copy everything 4 files at a time and it will copy all the sounds to the card without displaying the "not enough memory" message. But if I try to copy all the files in one hit it says there's not enough space on the disk. Sometimes it says there's no space when I try to copy a file and then I try again and it works. This is so annoying and I'm wasting a lot of time on it (that negates time saved in recycle) so I'd appreciate any other advice anyone might have..

Is it just my card that does this? Anyone else had similar issues running on a mac?

did you try to reset the mpc to see if that works?

turn off the mpc and hold the "erase" button while turning it back on.

At this stage I'm assuming it's an issue with the CF card as I use a few different removable devices (external hard drive, ipod shuffle etc) on a daily basis and I've never had a problem like this before.

Just wanted to check what peeps had to say before I spent more money on another card.

Hey just wondering - has anyone had this problem with the HDM? I might just buy that instead of another CF card seeing as I have no real use for the CF card anyway..
