any way to delete the internal sounds?

hey is ther eanyway to do this? i want to erase all internal memory. that shit is pissing me off. i don't want those garbagey samples on here.

I can't figure it out for the life of me i hope u can because they're horrible. I'd rather start with a completely clean slate...

thing that's frustrating about the mpc1000 is just how shit's setup. i'm so used to shit like on teh mpc3000... and all the otehr sampling drum machines...it's **** backwords...


but i'll say this, mpc1000 vs 3000 i do like the 1000 a bit more...

the resampling and size really due it in, i could do for bigger pads and better pads and a tilting display, but seriously the usb even all the additions make it so much easier... work flow is so much quicker, even tho sometimes iw ant to punch it to find a simple function...

this is how u do it--open ur ur mpc, and remove all the pads, all the pads have a chip under them that is the pre-programmed sample, just remove that chip and ur set!!!!

man, I removed mine when I first got the MPC1000 a year or so ago... but two of my friends have gotten their own MPC1k's now, and both have asked me how to do it, and I've forgotten how. I had hoped to see this question answered without having to dig through my storage space for the manual. Oh well.

- Deleting a file
you can delete the files in the memory card

1. open the directory window in the save page

2. select the desired file with the cursor key
* you can move through the directories with the left/right cursor keys.

3. press the F2 [delete] key.
* the delete file window will be displayed.

4. press the F5 [do it] key
* the selected file will be deleted.

[b]note: you can select a folder and delete it. if you delete a folder, all files in that folder will be deleted as well.

lmao... uh.... hmm.... there is. Read the stickies, also there is one in the forum index....

hehe, right. hope that someone has the sense to look in the 'popular questions, etc' forum instead of the plainly obvious MPC-1000 thread? and then wade through 15 pages of 'tips/techniques' to find the answer to one simple question? (of course everyone should check that out anyway.) no, i'm talking about a 'locked' thread placed as the top sticky clearly labelled something like 'FAQ: BEFORE YOU ASK ANY STUPID QUESTIONS...' which lists in plain english all the great info that is spread on this site. that might help, but i still think you're over-estimating peoples intelligence.

on the other hand, some times it's nice to get a new answer to an old question. it's not like the 'gods' around here are the be all end all grand wizards or some isht.
